Bacon and Cheese Pinwheels

Quick Breakfast on this overcast and gloomy Saturday morning, Bacon and Cheese Pinwheels

Ingredients:

  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • Grated Cheese
  • Bacon bits
  • Slivered almonds
  • Egg
  • Milk
Bacon and Cheese Pinwheels

Method:

  1. Let puff pastry defrost, but it should still be cold when you work with it.
  2. Unroll, keep on parchment paper
  3. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese
  4. Add Bacon bits
  5. 2 tbsp of slivered almonds
  6. Roll up like a jam roll and cover in parchment paper.
  7. Freeze for ± 15 minutes
  8. Take out and cut in 1″+ thick slices
  9. Use a brush and paint with egg wash (egg and milk mixture)
  10. Bake on parchment paper at 375F till done and you have a nice brown and toasted pinwheel
  11. For the second roll, I substituted the bacon for Biltong (Jerky) pieces and omitted the almonds.
  12. It is so yummy.
