Butter biscuits

TRH Butter biscuits

500 g butter softened
2 cups icing sugar
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

1 cup chopped walnuts/pecan nuts
1/2 cup chopped cherries or dark chocolate

Grease baking trays with butter and line with baking paper
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
Beat icing sugar and butter till fluffy.
In another bowl mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
Then gradually add to the creamed butter mixture
Mix to form biscuit dough, it should be firm not sticky.
Divide your dough into 2 parts
Add one variation to each and mix well.
Roll up tightly into thick sausages, wrap in cling-wrap and chill in the freezer until hard.
Cut into thin slices and place on baking trays
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
Cool and enjoy.
