Butternut Stew Bredie

Butternut Stew Bredie, A stew called a ‘bredie’ in Afrikaans consisting of butternut, onions, and meat of your choice

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • Meat
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp crushed chilies
  • Water
  • Meat
  • Sugar
Butternut Stew Bredie

Method

  1. Fry onions until browned, add your meat, salt, crushed chilies, add a little water and cook until the meat is almost soft.
  2. Add the butternut and cook until soft.
  3. Lastly, add a little sugar to sweeten.
  4. Serve with rice.
