We or I love a freshly baked scone, piping hot with a dollop of butter and a cuppa coffee. Please try this one: Cheese and Biltong Scones
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- Β½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup almond milk (regular milk will also work)
- ΒΌ cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 150g sliced and then chopped into smaller pieces of biltong (Jerky)
Method:
- Mix the first 3 ingredients listed.
- Add milk, oil, and egg together, and mix into the dry mixture.
- Lastly, add the cheese and biltong/jerky into the mixture.
- The dough is firm enough to work by hand.
- Preheat oven to 200C/400F.
- I used a regular size 12 well muffin pan.
- Oil your hands slightly, then form 12 equal size balls and place in a well-greased muffin pan and bake for Β±20 minutes until lightly golden brown on top or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
- Serve it warm out of the oven with fresh butter and a cup of steaming coffee.Β <3
