6 cups cake flour
1 pkt instant yeast
1 tblespoon mixed spice
2 tblespoon fine stick cinnamon
2 tblespoons aniseed
1 teaspoon salt
190ml sugar

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl
Boil 6 meduim potatoes until soft, mash
Keep the potato water and add more water to make up 750ml

Add to mashed potato
190ml sugar
1 egg
125ml butter
Mash until its lump free and smooth
Add to dry mixture and add water little by little until you have a soft dough.
Let it sit for an hour.
Break off pieces of dough and roll into a ball
Allow to raise for 30 mins and then deep fry your koeksisters
Dip in syrup and sprinkel with coconut

4 cups sugar
3 cups water
Stick cinnamon
Blob of butter
Cook until a suryp is formed
