Ingredients:
3tbsp butter or margarine
2/3 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup milk
1-2 cups crushed guava and pear (you could remove the seeds from the guava if they bother you)
Method:
Preheat oven to 360°F, and grease a large baking tin (I think mine was about 9×13″).
Cream the butter and sugar together, then add eggs in one at a time, mixing well after adding each one.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together and add to the wet ingredients.
Mix to combine, add milk, and mix again.
Pour batter into prepared tin and bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned on top.
While baking, prepare the sauce:
1/2 butter or margarine
2/3 cup sugar
1 tin evaporated milk
Heat all ingredients together in a small pot over medium heat until melted. Increase heat to bring it to the boil, then remove from heat.
Pour the sauce over the tart while they are both warm to soak it all up.
Fruit can be substituted to your taste – it’s just so moist and delicious!
