Crushed Chili Cabbage and Garlic Roti

A great family-pleasing meal made out of Crushed Chili Cabbage and Garlic Roti

  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp crushed chilies
  • 2 tsp tomato puree
  • 1 grated tomato
  • 1 sprig of curry leaf
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • Chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Water optional


  1. Braise onion in hot oil, add crushed chilies, curry leaves, add tomato and paste and garlic and mix, add cabbage and salt and sugar and cook.
  2. Once the cabbage is soft it is ready.

Garlic roti

Boil 2 cups water in a pot and add 2 tbs butter, 2 tbs oil, and 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp garlic.
When water is at boiling point add 2 cups flour, mix with a wooden spoon till it forms a ball, remove and knead well whilst still hot, roll out and toast on a flat pan.
Brush with a little melted margarine as soon as brown spots appear turn.
