Soak the snoek in boiling water
After few minutes rinse well, repeat this to remove the saltiness, and set aside
Heat your pot with a little extra oil.
Fry the snoek not to crispy and dry.
Remove and set aside.
In the same oil braise one large onion with few green chillies, 1 tsp crushed chillies.
Add 1 tsp bombay masala, 1tsp cumin and coriander powder,1 tsp durban masala.
Add 2 tsp ginger and garlic paste, stir.
Add 5 grated tomatoes, curry leaves, 1 tsp sugar and cook till water dries.
Add snoek and leave chutney to simmer.
Salt to taste
Garnish with boiled eggs and fresh coriander.
I never add salt in mine..even tho not salty.
Mielie rice
Soak 1 cup in hot water and leave for few hours, rinse well
Add rice to boil with a little more than 1 cup water, not too much water.
Once boiled rinse off water and add a little more than 1 cup to boil.
Add 1/2 tsp course salt and cook.
Once boiling drop the heat and leave to cook on low heat.
Add a tbs of butter and mix and leave to dry up, and cook till soft.
