Chilli Bites ( Bhajias )
1 x 200 g ready mix Spice Mecca chilli bite mix
Add to the chilli bite mix the following:
A large handful of chopped baby spinach,
A large handful of chopped coriander/cilantro,
1/2 chopped onion,
1/4 of both green and yellow peppers,
3 x green chillis chopped,
1 x beaten egg,
1/2 cup cold soda water using a little at a time.
If the mixture is too thick add little by little to thin.
Mix together and drop spoonfuls of mixture into hot vegetable oil turn down temperatur and cook on medium heat until they start to brown then flip over.
Drain on paper towels.
If unable to get the Spice Mecca ready mix here is a suitable recipe you can follow:
Bhajia:
1 cup chana or pea flour,
1/2 cup plain flour,
1 heaped tsp baking powder,
1 potato grated,
1 onion chopped,
1tsp salt,
1tsp chilli,
1tsp coriander powder,
1 tsp jeera,
1/2 tsp tumeric,
chopped coriander leaves and a little water.
Mix all into a batter except the baking powder, then before frying add the baking powder.
