Ma Lettie's milktart

6 large eggs
2 cups of sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt

Beat together until mixed well
Add to egg mixture:
5 heaped tablespoons (5 x 15ml) of flour
5 heaped tablespoons (5 x 15ml) of maizina (corn flour)
Mix well until there are no more lumps

Heat 9 cups of milk in a big pot.
Just before it starts to boil, add 2 cups of the milk to the egg mixture and mix well.
As soon as the milk starts boiling, turn the heat down to medium, add the mixture slowly while stirring with a whisk the whole time. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
Pour into a a dish (as shown in pic) or glass dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and let it cool down.

My mother-in-law FINALLY gave me this recipe a month before she passed away after 17 years of refusing to share.
I really appreciate that she did!
