I cut the ready made puff pastry into 10cm squares added 1 heaped teaspoon of the filling, brush half the edge of pastry with water.
Folded one end of pastry over to form a triangle.
I used my forefinger to create a pattern along the edge,
Pierced holes through top layer of pastry with a fork
Egg washed pastry and sprinkled with Demerra sugar
These turnovers will be baked from frozen
Bake at 180’C
Apple and Blackberry pie Filling
500g apples peeled and diced
200g black berries
5 Tbspn sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp All spice
Place apples in a heavy based pan on a low temperature.Allow to simmer.8-10 minutes
Add the blackberries, spices and sugar and simmer until all the liquid evaporates.
NB: this mixture can be used for crumble or pies
