I use this Dates paste as an alternative to sugar.
It can be used in a variety of dishes as a base to chutneys, sweeten breakfast cereals/ beverages,sticky ribs/chicken, in cakes, the list is endless.
Dates Paste
1 cup water
1 cup pitted dates
At a rolling boil, reduce the mixture to a thick consistency, stirring ocassionally.
Allow to cool and store in an airtight container in the fridge
