I used caster sugar instead of Demerra sugar.
We prefer a crunchy biscuit so I baked these for about 15 minutes.

This recipe makes approximately 12 biscuits.
Ingredients
75g plain flour
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
75g demerara sugar
75g porridge oats
75g butter
1 tbsp golden syrup
Handy tip
For softer biscuits, take out after 7 minutes.
For a crunchier biscuit, keep in for up to 15 minutes!
Method
Preheat oven 160’C/Gas mark 3
Put the plain flour in a bowl with half a level teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
Add the demerara sugar and porridge oats and stir together
Heat the butter in a pan with a tablespoon of golden syrup
Mix it altogether and roll it into balls (you should have about 12)
Set them well apart on a greased baking tray and bake for 7-15 minutes, depending on your oven, until golden brown.
