Sherri’s Sweet Rice

Ingredients
1 cup white rice
1 1/2 cup water
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups milk
100g butter
3/4 cup sugar-or 1/2 can condensed milk
1/2 cup dessicated coconut
1/4 cup chopped almonds
Sultanas
1/4 TSP cinnamon powder
1/4 TSP elatchi powder

Method
Wash rice thoroughly. Place in heavy based pot on medium heat with salt and water.
Boil until rice is almost done. I cook it about 25 mins.
Add milk, Sugar or condensed milk and butter.
Add nuts coconut and sultanas and elatchi and cinnamon powders.
Cook till rice is soft and almost mushy.
Please keep stirring to prevent scalding of the rice.
I don’t normally eat sweet rice but I had to give this a try.
