TRH Colleen's Small Malva Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup of cake flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. apricot jam
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. bicarb
  • 1 tbsp. butter/marg
  • 1cup milk

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a medium pyrex dish and bake @ 180deg for 30mins
  2. Pour the sauce over and allow it to soak in, it should be nice and moist, that’s how a malva pudding should be
  3. Serve with custard, cream, or ice cream

P.S: there is no baking powder in this recipe

MALVA SAUCE IS MADE WITH MILK.

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 tablespoons of butter/margarine

Method

  1. Boil all together until the sugar has dissolved for about 10mins
  2. Pour over malva pudding as soon as you take it out of the oven
  3. Enjoy with cream or custard or ice cream
