Description

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 170 grams sugar
  • 250 grams butter
  • 1 egg
  • half a teaspoon of baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 420 grams cake flour

Filling:

  • 180 grams sugar
  • 60 grams water
  • 160 grams walnuts (chopped)
  • 25 grams butter
  • 60 grams double thick cream
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

Dough

  1. Mix the sugar and butter in a mixer until fluffy.
  2. Add the egg and baking powder and mix again.
  3. Add the flour and mix until it becomes a ball.
  4. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Filling:

  1. Heat the water and sugar, (while you are stirring it) until it is thick and starts to get brown.
  2. Reduce the heat and add the butter.
  3. Add the honey.
  4. Put it into a glass bowl, add the cream, and lastly add the walnuts.
  5. Let it cool down.
  6. Divide the dough in two, press the one part in the baking tin with your fingers.
  7. Add the filling.
  8. Roll the other part to cover the filling.
  9. Brush with egg.
  10. Bake at 210°C/410°F for 14 minutes, or until golden brown.
