Description

Crispy homemade fried chicken that tastes just like KFC. Juicy, golden, and simple to make with pantry spices.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 4 Tbsp oil

Coating:

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry with paper towels so the coating sticks better.
  2. In a bowl, beat the eggs with the oil.
  3. In a large bowl or zip bag, mix flour and all coating spices.
  4. Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, then coat well in flour mix.
  5. For extra crispy chicken, repeat (egg then flour again).
  6. Place coated chicken on a tray and let it rest for 10 minutes; this keeps the crust from falling off.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan to 170–175°C / 340–350°F.
  8. Fry chicken in batches, about 6–8 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through (internal temp 74°C / 165°F).
  9. Drain on a wire rack or paper towels. Serve hot.
