My homemade version of the beloved and Best Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. Thinly sliced pieces of beef, peppers, onion, and melted cheese in a long sub roll yumminess!!

What is Cheesesteak?

A cheesesteak is a sandwich made from thinly sliced pieces of beefsteak and melted cheese in a long hoagie roll. A popular regional fast food, it has its roots in the U.S. city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Description

My homemade version of the beloved Philly cheesesteak sandwich is Thinly sliced pieces of beef, peppers, onion, and melted cheese in a long sub roll, yumminess!!


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 350g Ribeye/Sirloin Steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 Red Pepper
  • 1 Green Pepper
  • 1 Yellow Pepper
  • 1 Large Onion
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Provolone Cheese
  • Homemade Cheese Sauce
  • Sub Rolls

Instructions

  1. Cook the steak and set it aside.
  2. Cook the onion and peppers, add the steak back to the pan together with the peppers.
  3. Season and allow it to cook for a few minutes.
  4. Split the rolls, line with provolone cheese then place under the grill for a few seconds until the cheese melts slightly.
  5. Remove and fill with steak then top with cheese sauce.
  6. Serve and enjoy!!

Provolone Cheese

Provolone is Italian cheese. It is an aged pasta filata cheese originating in Campania near Vesuvius, where it is still produced in pear, sausage, or cone shapes 10 to 15 cm long. Provolone-type cheeses are also produced in other countries.
