- 1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1/2 cup Earth Balance
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Start by melting the Earth Balance in a small non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Once itβs melted, whisk in the nutritional yeast and flour.
- Keep whisking and toasting until you catch that nutty, toasty aroma, about 4 minutes.
- Carefully transfer this mixture to a medium saucepan.
- Whisk in the vegetable broth, soy sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Bring everything to a boil, then let it simmer until it thickens to your liking.
- If you want it thinner, add a splash more broth. Thicker? Let it simmer a bit longer.
- Taste and adjust with a pinch of salt and pepper if needed.
