Scale
- 3 cups Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Hot Water
- 1/3 cup Lard
Instructions
- Whisk together the dry ingredients.
- Rub in the lard till it resembles fine sand.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the water.
- Mix to bring the dough together.
- The dough should be sticky to the touch.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured work surface (add extra flour if too sticky to handle) and knead to form a smooth soft dough.
- Cover and allow it to rest for 30-40 minutes then divide into equal-sized balls, roll out, and cook on a hot non-stick pan.
- Keep the cooked tortillas covered with a dry tea towel to prevent them from drying out.
- Enjoy!!
