For World Taco Day, I made these flour tortillas, and we had a fiesta

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the dry ingredients.
  2. Rub in the lard till it resembles fine sand.
  3. Make a well in the center and pour in the water.
  4. Mix to bring the dough together.
  5. The dough should be sticky to the touch.
  6. Turn out onto a lightly floured work surface (add extra flour if too sticky to handle) and knead to form a smooth soft dough.
  7. Cover and allow it to rest for 30-40 minutes then divide into equal-sized balls, roll out, and cook on a hot non-stick pan.
  8. Keep the cooked tortillas covered with a dry tea towel to prevent them from drying out.
  9. Enjoy!!
