Description
You don’t need melted chocolate or a complicated recipe to make seriously good chocolate mousse.
Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 2 packets of chocolate instant pudding mix, using the same standard size for both packets
- 500 ml fresh cream
- 400 ml milk
- 2 to 3 Peppermint Crisp bars or peppermint chocolate flakes, crushed, plus a little extra for decorating
Instructions
- Add 2 packets of chocolate instant pudding mix, 500 ml fresh cream and 400 ml milk to a large mixing bowl.
- Using an electric beater, beat everything together until the mixture is smooth, thick, and creamy. Don’t overbeat it. Once it has thickened and everything is well combined, stop.
- Crush 2 to 3 Peppermint Crisp bars or peppermint chocolate flakes and stir most of them through the chocolate mousse. Keep a little aside for decorating.
- Spoon the chocolate peppermint mousse into serving glasses or one larger serving bowl.
- Sprinkle the reserved crushed peppermint chocolate over the top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or until properly chilled and set.
- I actually like making it a few hours ahead because the texture gets lovely and creamy while it chills.
