Description

Try our Baked Greek Meatballs Stuffed with Feta Cheese. Perfectly seasoned, bursting with flavor, and oh-so-cheesy. You won’t be able to resist these little gems of Greek goodness.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 500 gr lean ground beef
  • 2 slices white bread
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp dried parsley
  • 2 tbsp dried dill
  • 2 tbsp mint
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 4 tbsp Greek extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 200C
  2. Cut crusts of bread, soak in water, and squeeze out excess water.
  3. Finely chop onion, garlic, and fresh herbs (or process).
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef with chopped herbs, onion & garlic.
  5. Add bread, and vinegar, and mix.
  6. Add olive oil and egg and mix well.
  7. Refrigerate for an hour.
  8. Form into equal-sized balls
  9. Cube feta into ½-inch cubes
  10. Flatten each meatball in the palm of your hand, place the feta cube in the center, and close again forming a round ball.
  11. Place on a parchment-lined oven baking sheet pan and bake at 200oC / 392-400oF for 25-35 minutes or until desired doneness.
  12. You can also, as I did, air-fry them at 180oC/356oF for 12 minutes but do check after 10 minutes.
