Description

These buttery garlic BC Spot Prawns are quick, simple, and honestly hard to mess up if you don’t overthink them. This is one of those straight-from-the-pan dinners we keep making because it just works.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb fresh BC Spot Prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp fresh crushed garlic or store-bought minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Aromat or salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the cleaned BC Spot Prawns dry with a paper towel. This helps them sear instead of steam
  2. Place a large pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add 3 Tbsp butter and let it melt gently, not brown.
  4. Stir in the 2 tsp crushed garlic and cook for about 20 to 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
  5. Add the BC Spot Prawns (1 lb) in a single layer or fry in batches.
  6. Fry for 1 to 2 minutes per side, until just opaque and lightly pink. Please, don’t overcook them or they’ll go rubbery.
  7. Sprinkle over 1/2 tsp Aromat or salt to taste.
  8. Toss once to coat everything in the garlicky butter, then take the pan off the heat immediately.
  9. Serve hot while the prawns are juicy and tender.
  10. We had ours with long-grain wild rice and a fresh salad, and it was perfect.
