Description
These buttery garlic BC Spot Prawns are quick, simple, and honestly hard to mess up if you don’t overthink them. This is one of those straight-from-the-pan dinners we keep making because it just works.
Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 lb fresh BC Spot Prawns, cleaned and deveined
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp fresh crushed garlic or store-bought minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp Aromat or salt, to taste
Instructions
- Pat the cleaned BC Spot Prawns dry with a paper towel. This helps them sear instead of steam
- Place a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add 3 Tbsp butter and let it melt gently, not brown.
- Stir in the 2 tsp crushed garlic and cook for about 20 to 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
- Add the BC Spot Prawns (1 lb) in a single layer or fry in batches.
- Fry for 1 to 2 minutes per side, until just opaque and lightly pink. Please, don’t overcook them or they’ll go rubbery.
- Sprinkle over 1/2 tsp Aromat or salt to taste.
- Toss once to coat everything in the garlicky butter, then take the pan off the heat immediately.
- Serve hot while the prawns are juicy and tender.
- We had ours with long-grain wild rice and a fresh salad, and it was perfect.
