Description

Quick and easy buns for your next snack attack. Perfect savory treat for breakfast or tea. Shareable, cheesy, and ridiculously good.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 570g white bread dough (store-bought)
  • 60-90g Marmite (1/2-3/4 of a 125g bottle, depending on taste)
  • Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, as much as you like
  • Oil or cooking spray, for muffin pan
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spray or wipe the insides of a 12-well muffin pan with oil. Don’t be shy, get it nice and coated.
  3. Pinch off 3 smallish balls of your 570g white bread dough and place them in the bottom of each well. They don’t need to be perfect.
  4. Microwave 60–90g Marmite for about 10 seconds to loosen it up.
  5. Grab a brush, dip it in Marmite, and spread a thin layer over the bottom dough balls. A little messiness is fine; it’ll taste amazing.
  6. Sprinkle a generous amount of sharp, shredded cheese over the Marmite. Go wild, it’s all about that gooey goodness.
  7. Pinch another 2–3 balls of dough and layer them over the cheese. Use up all your dough; it’s going to puff up nicely.
  8. Brush the tops with extra Marmite or an egg wash if you want a shiny golden finish.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, until the buns are golden and smelling like heaven.
  10. Let them cool for a few minutes in the pan, then pull them apart and enjoy them warm.
