- 500g chicken fillet, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp oil (olive or canola)
- 1 cup yellow bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup red bell pepper, chopped
- 100g button mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups uncooked pasta (penne or fusilli work well)
- 500ml milk
- 1 packet Knorr Chicken A La King mix
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or grated cheese, optional, for serving
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until just tender. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion until golden.
- Add the chicken, mushrooms, and peppers.
- Cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring now and then, until the chicken is just cooked through.
- Pour in the milk and stir in the contents of the Knorr packet. Let it come up to a gentle boil.
- Lower the heat and simmer uncovered for about 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Toss in the cooked pasta and season with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle with parsley or cheese if you like, and serve hot.
