Craving a new twist on your classic waffles? You must try these Chickpea Waffles topped with delicious falafels. A perfect blend of savory and hearty that will surely satisfy your tastebuds.

Instructions

  1. If you are using dried chickpeas then make sure you soaked it overnight to ensure it absorbed enough liquid to swell and soften.
  2. Drain and set aside.
  3. If you are using canned chickpeas then drain and set aside.
  4. Combine the chopped onion, garlic, coriander, and spices.
  5. Blend till mixed well.
  6. Add 1 cup of chickpeas and blend until smooth.
  7. Add in the remaining chickpeas and pulse to form a mixture with texture.
  8. Place the mixture in a large bowl and sprinkle in the baking powder, dhania, and flour.
  9. Mix it in with a spoon.
  10. You will have a coarse mixture.
  11. Scoop out the mixture and shape into balls.
  12. Fry on a medium heat until golden brown.
  13. Serve with a squeeze of lime/ lemon juice over the falafels and enjoy.
  14. Scoop out the falafel mixture and cook in the waffle maker.
  15. Add your toppings and enjoy.
