Craving a new twist on your classic waffles? You must try these Chickpea Waffles topped with delicious falafels. A perfect blend of savory and hearty that will surely satisfy your tastebuds.

- 2 cups Chickpeas
- 1 Red Onion (chopped)
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin
- 1 Teaspoon Paprika/ Chili Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 cup Coriander
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup Chickpea Flour
Instructions
- If you are using dried chickpeas then make sure you soaked it overnight to ensure it absorbed enough liquid to swell and soften.
- Drain and set aside.
- If you are using canned chickpeas then drain and set aside.
- Combine the chopped onion, garlic, coriander, and spices.
- Blend till mixed well.
- Add 1 cup of chickpeas and blend until smooth.
- Add in the remaining chickpeas and pulse to form a mixture with texture.
- Place the mixture in a large bowl and sprinkle in the baking powder, dhania, and flour.
- Mix it in with a spoon.
- You will have a coarse mixture.
- Scoop out the mixture and shape into balls.
- Fry on a medium heat until golden brown.
- Serve with a squeeze of lime/ lemon juice over the falafels and enjoy.
- Scoop out the falafel mixture and cook in the waffle maker.
- Add your toppings and enjoy.
