- 2 tablespoons Butter

Instructions
- Toss the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt into a saucepan.
- Whisk it all together until any clumps vanish.
- Pour in the milk while whisking to keep everything smooth and happy.
- Set the pan over medium heat and stir patiently; this is where the magic happens. As it warms up, the mixture will thicken.
- Once it starts bubbling, keep stirring for another minute or so.
- It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
- Remove it from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla until silky.
- If you can wait, let it cool. To avoid that weird skin forming on top, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface.
- Or, if patience isn’t your strong suit, dunk the bowl in some ice water and stir it to cool it down faster.
