Description
Crispy Hong Kong Chicken with a sweet soy and honey glaze that melts in your mouth. Perfect for family dinners or a fun weeknight treat.

- 1 tray of chicken pieces
- 1/4 cup dark soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp honey
- 3 Tbsp garlic/ginger mix
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 heaped tsp corn flour
- 1 tsp salt
- A few dashes of white pepper
- 3 Tbsp water
- Sesame seeds, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Grab a large glass bowl and toss in ¼ cup dark soy sauce, 3 Tbsp brown sugar, 1 ½ Tbsp honey, 3 Tbsp garlic/ginger mix, 1 tsp sesame oil, ¼ tsp ground ginger, 1 heaped tsp corn flour, 1 tsp salt, a few dashes white pepper, and 3 Tbsp water.
- Stir it all together until it looks like a sticky, delicious mess.
- Add your 1 tray of chicken pieces and mix until every piece is coated.
- Cover and let it marinate for a few hours, but honestly, overnight is best if you’ve got the patience.
- Heat a deep pan or fryer with oil. Once hot, carefully add the chicken pieces and fry until golden, crispy, about 10–12 minutes depending on size.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Sprinkle generously with sesame seeds.
- Serve hot and watch them disappear fast.
