Description

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Hot water
  • 10g instant dry yeast
  • 4 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3 1/4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp. Cremora (milk powder)
  • 40g butter (very soft)
  • 1 Tbsp. Oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. Amasi (sour milk)
  • 2 Tbsp. Plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence


Instructions

  1. Mix the milk, water, sugar & dry yeast in your mixing bowl & let it froth in a warm place for 10 minutes
  2. Mix the egg, Amasi (sour milk), yogurt, oil & vanilla essence into the milk mixture and whisk well,
  3. Add it to the sifted flour, salt & Cremora (milk powder).
  4. Start mixing slowly until a dough is formed.
  5. Add the butter and knead well for about 10 minutes
  6. Place dough in an oiled dish & cover it with cling film or a lid
  7. Let it rise in a warm place until it is doubled, 1–2 hours.
  8. Roll out the dough to about 2 cm thickness
  9. Cut it out with a donut cutter & leave it to rise again for 20–30 minutes
  10. Deep Fry in med-low oil until light brown
  11. Drain well & pack it on paper towels
  12. Decorate as desired
