Description

Gather around for the ultimate Harvest Cheese Hotpot.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 350g Bacon
  • 15g Butter
  • 2 Onions (chopped)
  • 500g Carrots (thinly sliced & parboiled)
  • 150g Cheese
  • 2 tins Plum tomatoes
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the bacon bit into strips
  2. Melt the butter and gently sauté the onions & bacon, for about 10 minutes.
  3. Butter an oven-proof dish.
  4. Layer the mixture of bacon, onions, carrots, and tomatoes as well as the grated cheese finishing with a layer of cheese.
  5. Bake 190C/375F for 50–60 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with crusty bread or jacket potatoes.

Freezing instructions

  1. Layer up the ingredients when they are all cold. Then freeze.
  2. You can reheat from frozen: Place it into a preheated oven at 200C/395F, with the lid on or covered tightly with tinfoil.
  3. After 30 minutes remove the lid/foil & bake for another 30 minutes
