Description

Soft Homemade Bread Recipe you’ll bake again and again.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cake flour
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • ± 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • ± 2 tablespoons oil (extra, for coating)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Topping: sesame, poppy, aniseed, or sunflower seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, and lukewarm water.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Pat the dough with the extra oil.
  5. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Divide the dough into 3 pieces, braid them, and place them into a greased loaf tin.
  7. Let it rise again for 10 minutes.
  8. Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with seeds of your choice.
  9. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before slicing.
