Dumplings
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp mixed herbs
- 1/2 cup cold milk
Stew
- 1 mutton or veg stock pot
- 1 kg lamb
- 2–3 Potatoes
- 2 Onions
- 1/4 tsp Thyme
- 1/4 tsp Crushed pepper
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp masala
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste.
- 250–300 g mixed vegetables (or how much you prefer)
- 2 tbsp flour
Instructions
Dumplings
- Sift flour and baking powder.
- Add salt
- Rub in butter
- Add mixed herbs
- Add milk, and mix well
- Drop a spoonful of dough into the simmering stew
Stew
- Heat oil in a pot, add meat, salt, pepper, turmeric, masala, ginger, and garlic paste, and stock pot.
- Simmer for 15 minutes, add onion, keep adding a little hot water at a time, cook for 45 minutes, then add potatoes.
- Cook for 10 mins, mix 2 tablespoons flour with 1 cup cold water, and add to stew, once it starts to simmer, add the dumplings, and cook the dumplings for 15 to 20 minutes.
- DO NOT LIFT THE LID DURING THESE 15 MINUTES
- Then once the dumplings are done, remove them from the stew, and switch off the stove.
