- 2 cups oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded coconut flakes
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons golden syrup or honey (your pick!)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions
- Start by melting the butter with the syrup or honey.
- Stir in the baking soda until it’s fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, flour, coconut, sugar, and salt.
- Pour the buttery mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until everything comes together.
- Scoop the dough onto a cookie sheet and flatten with the palm of your hand to an even thickness.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 13–15 minutes, just until they’re golden and crisp around the edges.
- When you pull them out of the oven, slice them into squares or bars right away, while they’re still warm and soft.
- Let them cool completely before breaking them apart.
