Instructions

  1. Start by melting the butter with the syrup or honey.
  2. Stir in the baking soda until it’s fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, flour, coconut, sugar, and salt.
  4. Pour the buttery mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until everything comes together.
  5. Scoop the dough onto a cookie sheet and flatten with the palm of your hand to an even thickness.
  6. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 13–15 minutes, just until they’re golden and crisp around the edges.
  7. When you pull them out of the oven, slice them into squares or bars right away, while they’re still warm and soft.
