Description

Paptert: a dish that’s simple, hearty, and totally crave-worthy. Wait until you taste this.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Leek
  • Onion
  • Beef Strips
  • Kale
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Pap
  • Beef Stock
  • Tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup Chopped mushrooms
  • Soy Sauce
  • A store-bought packet of powdered gravy
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Smoked Cheddar

Instructions

Bottom layer:

  1. Stir-fried a leek, an onion, beef strips, and kale with BBQ sauce.
  2. Then a layer of pap made in beef stock

Then a sauce layer:

  1. A can of chopped tomatoes and about a cup of chopped mushrooms.
  2. Flavored with soy sauce and thickened with a store-bought packet of gravy (the powdered stuff).
  3. Just a pinch of Italian seasoning added.
  4. Then another layer of pap topped with a bit of finely chopped garlic, and then some smoked cheddar.
  5. All baked together until the cheese is melted and it’s all warmed through.

It was delicious!

How to make Pap – Cornmeal Porridge

  1. Pour the beef stock into a big pot, add the salt, butter, and mix.
  2. Add the cornmeal and stir. 
  3. Put the stove plate on low, cover with a lid, and cook for about an hour, stirring occasionally.
