Description

Golden Crispy Fish with Simple Lemon Sauce. A light, tangy sauce makes this battered fish recipe a weeknight winner.


Ingredients

For the fish: Fish in Vinegar Batter

Lemon sauce:

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp (7.5 ml) Cornflour (Maizena)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp Nando’s sauce (for heat, optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Aromat or seasoned salt
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) fresh cream
  • Fresh parsley or coriander for garnish

Instructions

For the Fish:  Fish in Vinegar Batter

Lemon sauce:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together lemon juice, Cornflour, water, Nando’s sauce, and Aromat until smooth.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Pour in the lemon mixture, whisking constantly until it thickens.
  3. Stir in the cream and bring just to a gentle boil. Remove from heat.
  4. Pour the warm sauce over the crispy battered fish.
  5. Garnish with parsley or coriander.
