Sprite Apple Wraps

Description

Tender apples in a crisp pastry baked with maple sugar and Sprite. Maple Sprite Apple Wraps are an easy family favorite


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 200g margarine
  • 1 cup maple sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Cinnamon, to sprinkle
  • 1 can Sprite
  • 2 handfuls crushed pecan nuts (optional, but preferable for a beautiful crunch)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the 2 Granny Smith apples into 8 wedges each.
  3. Roll each apple slice into a triangle of crescent roll dough, pinching the ends slightly.
  4. Place all 16 rolls snugly into a lightly buttered 9×13″ glass baking dish.
  5. Melt 200g margarine, then whisk in 1 cup maple sugar just until combined.
  6. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and pour evenly over the apple wraps.
  7. Carefully pour 1 can of Sprite around the edges of the dish.
  8. Dust with cinnamon and scatter 2 handfuls of crushed pecans if desired.
  9. Bake for about 40 minutes until golden and bubbling.
