Ingredients
2 granny smith apples
2 cans crescent rolls – store bought
200g margarine
1 cup maple sugar (you can use any brown sugar)
1 teaspoon vanilla
cinnamon, to sprinkle
1 can Sprite
2 hands full of crushed pecan nuts (optional)
Method:
Peel, core and slice apples into 8 slices each.
Roll each slice of apple into a a piece of crescent dough
Place all 16 pieces in a 9×13″ lightly buttered glass dish.
Melt butter, add sugar, and stir lightly.
Add vanilla, stir again, and now pour it over the apples.
Pour the Sprite around the edges of the dish. I does foam but not to worry about that.
Sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and scatter the pecan nuts over. I used quite a lot, as I love pecans and thought the crunch will be fantastic!
Bake at 350 degrees F for ±40 minutes.
