Description

The blend of cumin, paprika, and chili powder brings warmth and color to these Sticky Oven Baby Back Ribs; the sauce bubbles into a sticky layer that tastes richer with every bite.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 rack baby back ribs, halved
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 275Β°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil.
  3. If your rack of baby back ribs feels a bit wet, pat it dry so the rub sticks better.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the 2 teaspoons of cumin, 2 teaspoons of chili powder, 1 teaspoon pepper, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoons salt, and 2 teaspoons paprika.
  5. Sprinkle this mix evenly over both halves of the ribs and rub it in well.
  6. Wrap the ribs completely with foil so the steam will stay inside, and place them on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 2 hours until the ribs feel tender when you bend them slightly.
  8. Raise the oven temp to 500Β°F. Carefully unwrap the foil so you don’t get hit with hot steam.
  9. Transfer the ribs back onto the baking sheet and brush the tops with the 1 cup of BBQ sauce.
  10. Bake for 10 minutes to get the sauce bubbling and caramelized.
  11. Let the ribs rest for at least 10 minutes so the juices settle.
  12. Slice between the bones and serve warm.
