Instructions

  1. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil or parchment paper, leaving a little overhang so you can lift the fudge out easily later. Lightly grease the foil with nonstick spray or butter so nothing sticks.
  2. In a medium heavy-duty saucepan, add 2 cups of chocolate morsels and 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk.
  3. Place over low heat. Stir constantly so the chocolate doesn’t scorch. It usually takes about 4 to 5 minutes to melt into a smooth, glossy mixture.
  4. Stir in 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt if using.
  5. If using salt, add it now (optional).
  6. Pour the warm fudge mixture into your prepared pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly into the corners.
  7. Let it cool at room temperature for about 20 minutes before transferring to the refrigerator. Chill for at least 2 hours, or until fully firm.
  8. Lift the fudge out using the foil or parchment paper overhang. Peel away the foil or parchment paper and cut into squares with a sharp knife.
  9. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week, if you have any left after the first hour.
