Reimagine dessert with bold flavors and enjoy this unforgettable Astros Chocolate Brownie


Ingredients

Brownie Base:

  • 250 g Butter or Stork Bake
  • 125 ml Cocoa Powder
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 4 Extra-large Eggs
  • 250 ml Cake Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1 box (45g) Astros

Topping:

  • 200 g Cadbury Chocolate
  • 1 Small Tin Nestlé Dessert Cream

Icing:

  • 2 cups Icing Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 3 ml Vanilla Essence
  • 1 Tbsp Soft Butter
  • 1-2 Tbsp (15-30 ml) Hot Water


Instructions

Preheat to 180°C (350°F).

Brownie Batter:

  1. Melt butter in a heavy-based saucepan over medium heat, then stir in cocoa powder until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and mix in sugar.
  3. Add eggs and beat well using a wooden spoon.
  4. Sift cake flour and baking powder into the mixture and stir gently until combined.
  5. Add vanilla essence and Astros, folding gently to distribute evenly.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 20×30 cm cake pan.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the brownies spring back lightly when touched.

Topping:

  1. Melt 200 g Cadbury chocolate in the microwave for 2–3 minutes on medium heat.
  2. Mix in Nestlé dessert cream until smooth. Set aside.

Icing:

  1. Combine icing sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla essence, and butter in a bowl.
  2. Gradually add hot water until you achieve a smooth, spreadable consistency.

Assemble:

  1. Once the brownies have cooled, pour the prepared icing over them and allow it to set.

Decorate:

  1. Top with Astros, walnuts, cashew nuts, or M&M’s for an added crunch and visual appeal.

Serve:

  1. Slice into squares and enjoy your delicious Astros brownies!
