Description

Try this delectable Banana & Walnut Squares with a Ginger Spiced Cream Cheese Frosting. It’s the perfect blend of nutty crunch and zesty charm. Experience a burst of flavor in every bite.


Ingredients

Squares

  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 Teaspoons vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Cake Flour
  • 1 cup Bananas (mashed)
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts (chopped)

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 250g Plain Cream Cheese
  • 23 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1/2 cup Icing Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Ground Ginger

Instructions

Banana & Walnut Squares 

  1. This recipe was made with a sugar substitute so please add more sugar if you need to.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Whisk the eggs, vanilla, and sour cream together and add it in, mix to combine well.
  4. Add in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Stir in the mashed bananas and chopped walnuts.
  6. Pour into a greased baking pan and bake at 180C / 350F for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool completely.

Cream Cheese Frosting

  1. Whisk all the ingredients together until smooth and silky. (If it’s too thick then add more milk).
  2. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake.
  3. If you love ginger, feel free to sprinkle extra ginger over.
  4. Cut into squares.
  5. Decorate as you desire and enjoy
