Description

Sweet, rich, and hard to stop eating, this is dessert comfort food at its best. If you love bananas and have a sweet tooth, you’ll want to try this one.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • Butter
  • Couple of heaped teaspoons of brown sugar
  • Whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Slice the bananas in half, lengthwise.
  2. Melt some butter in a pan and fry the bananas until golden and caramelized on both sides.
  3. Add a bit more butter if the pan starts to stick.
  4. Once the bananas are ready, take them out of the pan and set them aside.
  5. While the pan is still warm, stir in a couple of heaped teaspoons of brown sugar.
  6. Let it melt into the butter.
  7. Pour in some whipping cream, just enough to turn it into a smooth, silky sauce.
  8. A little goes a long way, but adding more cream can help cut the sweetness if it’s too much for your taste.
  9. Take it off the heat, give it a good stir, and pour the toffee sauce over the warm bananas.

Optional:

Serve with ice cream or unsweetened whipped cream to balance the rich, sweet flavor.

It’s sticky, buttery, and full of flavor. If you love desserts on the sweeter side, you’re going to love this.
