Instructions
- Slice the bananas in half, lengthwise.
- Melt some butter in a pan and fry the bananas until golden and caramelized on both sides.
- Add a bit more butter if the pan starts to stick.
- Once the bananas are ready, take them out of the pan and set them aside.
- While the pan is still warm, stir in a couple of heaped teaspoons of brown sugar.
- Let it melt into the butter.
- Pour in some whipping cream, just enough to turn it into a smooth, silky sauce.
- A little goes a long way, but adding more cream can help cut the sweetness if it’s too much for your taste.
- Take it off the heat, give it a good stir, and pour the toffee sauce over the warm bananas.
Optional:
Serve with ice cream or unsweetened whipped cream to balance the rich, sweet flavor.
