Description

Want a sauce that’s fresh, sweet, and simple? Blue and Blackberry Sauce might just become your favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mixed berries (half blueberries, half blackberries)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Add half the berries, ¼ cup water, all the sugar, and lemon juice to a pot.
  2. Stir and bring it to a boil.
  3. Lower the heat and let it gently bubble for 7–10 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch into the remaining ¼ cup of water until smooth.
  5. Pour this into your berry mix and stir. It’ll start to thicken.
  6. Now add the rest of the berries.
  7. Let it cook on low for 3 more minutes.
  8. Done! Sterilize your jars or bottles, pour in the sauce, seal, and store in a cool place.

Tips:

  • You can make a big batch (like 10 pounds of berries!) and enjoy it for months.
  • Tastes amazing on ice cream, pancakes, waffles, or as a cheesecake topping.
  • Want to use it on cheesecake? Mix 1 cup of the sauce with 1 packet of gelatin dissolved in warm water. Stir well, spread on top, and chill until set. So good.

Great for gifts… if you don’t eat it all first.
