Description

This crunchy, sweet, and totally irresistible snack mix has earned the name Christmas Crack for a reason. It’s the kind of treat that disappears before the party’s even halfway through. Packed with cereal, coconut, pecans, and raisins, then coated in buttery syrup, it hits every craveable note: crunchy, sweet, nutty, and a little chewy.

Dry Mix

Syrup

  • 375 g butter (about 3 sticks)
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 500 ml (2 cups) golden corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Dump all the dry ingredients into a giant mixing bowl.
  2. Stir everything together until well combined.
  3. In a large pot, melt the butter, sugar, and corn syrup.
  4. Stir constantly while it cooks for about 5 minutes, until the syrup reaches the soft-ball stage (thick and sticky but not hard).
  5. Split your dry mix between two large trays or bowls.
  6. Pour half the hot syrup over one tray and stir to coat. Then do the same with the other tray.
  7. Combine everything back into one tray or bowl.
  8. Stir well to make sure every piece is coated in syrup.
  9. Let the mix sit for about 5–10 minutes.
  10. Stir once or twice to keep it from clumping together.
  11. Stir occasionally as it cools to prevent big sticky lumps. The goal is separate, syrup-coated bites, not one giant cereal brick.
  12. Once completely cool, keep it in an airtight container to stay crisp.

This holiday treat is a total crowd-pleaser. No baking, just a sticky-sweet syrup poured over crunchy, chewy, nutty goodness. Ideal for parties, gifts, or late-night snacking.
