Description
This crunchy, sweet, and totally irresistible snack mix has earned the name Christmas Crack for a reason. It’s the kind of treat that disappears before the party’s even halfway through. Packed with cereal, coconut, pecans, and raisins, then coated in buttery syrup, it hits every craveable note: crunchy, sweet, nutty, and a little chewy.

Scale
Dry Mix
- 395 g (1 box) Honey Nut Chex cereal
- 550 g (1 box) Original Shreddies cereal
- 200 g shredded coconut
- 200 g pecans
- 200 g golden raisins
Syrup
- 375 g butter (about 3 sticks)
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 500 ml (2 cups) golden corn syrup
Instructions
- Dump all the dry ingredients into a giant mixing bowl.
- Stir everything together until well combined.
- In a large pot, melt the butter, sugar, and corn syrup.
- Stir constantly while it cooks for about 5 minutes, until the syrup reaches the soft-ball stage (thick and sticky but not hard).
- Split your dry mix between two large trays or bowls.
- Pour half the hot syrup over one tray and stir to coat. Then do the same with the other tray.
- Combine everything back into one tray or bowl.
- Stir well to make sure every piece is coated in syrup.
- Let the mix sit for about 5–10 minutes.
- Stir once or twice to keep it from clumping together.
- Stir occasionally as it cools to prevent big sticky lumps. The goal is separate, syrup-coated bites, not one giant cereal brick.
- Once completely cool, keep it in an airtight container to stay crisp.
This holiday treat is a total crowd-pleaser. No baking, just a sticky-sweet syrup poured over crunchy, chewy, nutty goodness. Ideal for parties, gifts, or late-night snacking.
