Description

Some like it plain, some go all out, what’s your style?

Classic bread pudding is perfect on its own, but let’s be real, sometimes it needs a little extra. Are you Team Raisins, Team Chocolate Chips, or Team Dump It All In?

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 slices of old bread, torn into chunks (stale is perfect!)
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk makes it extra rich)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (or more if you’re feeling fancy)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cozy Hot Bread Pudding

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a small casserole dish, no one likes a pudding that won’t come out.
  3. Toss the torn-up bread into the dish.
  4. Whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, cinnamon, and vanilla in a bowl.
  5. Pour that mixture over the bread, making sure every piece gets nice and soaked. Let it sit for about 20 minutes, trust me, this makes it extra soft and custardy.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and a little crisp.
  7. Cool slightly (because no one wants a burnt tongue), then dig in!
  8. It’s amazing with custard, whipped cream, or just straight from the dish.
