Description

Add this simple Cucumber raita side to your meal and see how it changes the whole plate.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cucumber, chopped into tiny cubes (lightly squeeze out extra water)
  • 2 cups thick plain yogurt (Greek works well)
  • 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder (optional but adds depth)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, a pinch
  • 1 chili, chopped (optional for heat)
  • Squeeze of lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chop the cucumber finely and press gently with a paper towel to remove excess water.
  2. Stir together yogurt, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Fold in the cucumber and chili if using.
  4. Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice and coriander on top.
  5. Chill for 10 minutes before serving if you have time; it tastes even better cold.
