Description

Moist and rich eggless chocolate cake made easy with simple ingredients. Coffee and yogurt add a surprising boost of flavor. Perfect for any occasion

Cake

Simple Chocolate Icing

  • 100g margarine (Rama works well)
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp hot water

Instructions

Cake

  1. Heat the oven to 180°C /350°F and grease your cake tin.
  2. In a bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  3. Create a small well in the dry mix, then add the oil, coffee, milk, yogurt, and vanilla.
  4. Stir everything until smooth and well mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased tin. Tap it gently to release any air bubbles.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes. Check by poking with a toothpick; it should come out clean.
  7. Take it out and let it cool before decorating.

Simple Chocolate Icing

  1. Mix margarine and cocoa powder until smooth.
  2. Add hot water and stir well.
  3. Add icing sugar and vanilla, then mix until creamy.
  4. Spread over the cooled cake as much as you like.
