Easy eggless scones that stay soft and fluffy. Perfect for breakfast, tea, or a quick snack at home.
Instructions
- Sift 5 cups of self-raising flour into a big mixing bowl. Don’t skip this step, as it keeps your scones light and airy.
- Pour in 250ml of fresh cream and 330ml of Sprite. Yeah, Sprite! It gives your scones a nice lift and keeps them soft.
- Grab a knife (or a spatula if you prefer) and mix everything until it comes together.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Give it a gentle knead for about 5 minutes. You don’t want to overwork it; just enough to bring it together.
- Roll the dough out to about 2cm thick, then cut out scones using a circle cookie cutter or a cup.
- Don’t worry if the edges aren’t perfect.
- Place the scones on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
- Serve hot with cream, cheese, jam, or whatever makes you happy.
- Pair it with a nice mug of coffee or tea and enjoy!
