Description

Mixed Fruit Crumble: proof that dessert doesn’t have to be complicated. A little fruit, a quick oat topping, and 15 minutes later, you’re winning. Anyone else obsessed with crumble season?

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • About 1 1/2 cups of mixed fruit (blackberries, mango, peaches, banana—whatever you’ve got)
  • A splash of lemon juice
  • A pinch of allspice (or cinnamon if that’s what you’ve got)
  • 3 tablespoons oats
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • A few pecans, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Add the fruit to a small baking dish and mix in the lemon juice and allspice.
  3. In a bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and pecans.
  4. Rub in the butter with your fingers or a fork until crumbly.
  5. Spread the topping over the fruit.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and crisp.
  7. Let it cool a bit (unless you like a burnt tongue). It’s sweet, warm, and totally satisfying—perfect for using up leftover fruit!
