- About 1 1/2 cups of mixed fruit (blackberries, mango, peaches, banana—whatever you’ve got)
- A splash of lemon juice
- A pinch of allspice (or cinnamon if that’s what you’ve got)
- 3 tablespoons oats
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- A few pecans, roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Add the fruit to a small baking dish and mix in the lemon juice and allspice.
- In a bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and pecans.
- Rub in the butter with your fingers or a fork until crumbly.
- Spread the topping over the fruit.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and crisp.
- Let it cool a bit (unless you like a burnt tongue). It’s sweet, warm, and totally satisfying—perfect for using up leftover fruit!
