- 4 1/2 cups cake flour
- 10 grams instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon fennel powder
- 2 eggs
- 80 grams melted butter
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss together 4 ½ cups cake flour, 10 grams instant yeast, 2 tablespoons caster sugar, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon fennel powder.
- Add in 2 eggs, 80 grams of melted butter, and 1 cup lukewarm milk.
- Mix until a soft dough forms. Don’t stress if it’s a bit sticky; it’s all good and normal.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Grease a large bowl, pop your dough in, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise for 2 hours. You’ll notice it almost doubles in size.
- Once risen, gently punch down the dough and divide it into small balls.
- Arrange them neatly in a round, greased baking pan.
- Cover again and let them rise for 40 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Beat 1 egg and brush it over the top of each roll.
- Sprinkle generously with sesame seeds or poppy seeds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly, then enjoy the fluffy, buttery goodness!
